Converge: The AI App Builder That Builds Real Apps

Over the last year, “vibe coding” and AI app builders have exploded.

The promise was simple: describe an idea in plain English and get a working app in minutes. In reality, most tools produce something closer to a prototype.

After millions of tokens, we kept seeing the same pattern: polished UI, no real backend, brittle integrations, and endless debugging.

Most projects are eventually abandoned or handed off to a “real” developer to rebuild.

That’s the gap Converge was built to close.

What is Converge?

Converge is an AI app builder for creating real, full-stack web applications.

From day one, every app includes:

  • A real database
  • Backend logic
  • Authentication
  • Real-time sync
  • hosting and deployment

All in one system.

Every app built in Converge runs on Convex, a modern backend designed to work reliably with AI agents.

Built-in components

On top of a stronger backend, Converge includes a growing set of components you can add with a single prompt.

Think of components as pre-built building blocks that provide real functionality out of the box, without setup or wiring.

A few components from our growing list:

And more! You can check out all supported components here.

How Converge is different

Most AI app builders use Supabase as their built-in backend. Supabase was designed for humans to configure manually, not for LLMs to generate.

This is exactly why AI-generated apps feel so fragile. Auth breaks, file uploads fail, and basic backend features are hit or miss.

We use Convex, a modern, code-defined backend designed to work well with AI agents. Everything the agent needs is represented in the codebase, which increases reliability as your product starts to scale.

For you, that means apps that work on the first generation, stay stable as they grow, and support real-time features without constant debugging.

You’ll spend fewer credits, fix fewer bugs, and ship faster.

We’ll do a longer breakdown on this decision and convex/supabase in the future, stay tuned!

An apples-to-apples comparison

We ran a controlled comparison against other popular vibe-coding tools (Lovable, Bolt, Replit, and v0).

The setup was simple:

  • The exact same Slack-clone prompt
  • The same feature checklist (auth, backend, real-time sync, search, file uploads, etc.)
  • Judged on the first generation only (no manual fixes)
